PARTIAL 'SHOOTING' SCRIPT
1939
A partial twelve page script with a goldenrod cover having a typed title of Selznick International presents "Gone With The Wind" from the novel by Margaret Mitchell and a date of January 6, 1939. Sidney Howard and Oliver H.P. Garrett are given credit as screenwriters, David O. Selznick is listed as producer and George Cukor is listed as director. Starting with the opening scene as Scarlett and the Tarleton Brothers talk at Tara and ending on Page 12 as Scarlett and her family make their way to the Twelve Oaks Barbeque, this document has a number of pencilled-in changes such as the one noting that Jonas Wilkerson should be ...twirling his hat in his hand instead of brushing his nose and sniffling when Ellen tells him his child has been born. Though incomplete, many other interesting changes are noted in this early draft.
