This race was won by Hermann Lang driving the W154 supercharged 3-litre Grand Prix Mercedes for his second successive victory in the event, and towards regaining his European Championship title as well.

Grosser Preis von Schweiz 1939 - a fine porcelain trophy by Meissen in the form of a swooping eagle; white over-glazed ceramic sculpture, mounted upon an ebonised wood base having applied silver plaque engraved and inscribed "Ehrenpreis des Deutscher Gesandten in der Schweiz". Minor loss to wing-tip. Height 17ins (43cm).
