The Aston Martin Lagonda V8 of 1976 represented a dramatic change in direction for a manufacturer that, although it had built fine luxury cars, was primarily known for its high speed Grand Tourers. Their intention was to build a luxury car radically more advanced than anything known to be in the mind of any possible competitor. This William Towns-styled creation was successfully kept under wraps until Press Day at the London Motor Show in Autumn 1976. Its extravagant knife-edge styling, superb mechanical specification and host of technically advanced details including computerised electronic circuitry and controls brought deserved international attention and approval. It was built at Newport Pagnell to Aston Martin's highest standards, a sumptuously equipped four-seater, four door saloon.
The vendor having seen one of these cars one weekend thought that they were so unusual, he decide that he would purchase one. Having purchased this car seven years ago he sent the car to Aston Martin to have the car re-painted and checked over where they completed all work that was necessary. Since then the car has been maintained regardless of cost and used sparingly with the mileage reading a mere 28,000 miles.
An opportunity to purchase an Aston Martin Lagonda in excellent condition as you would expected from a car with such a low mileage. Ready to show or to be driven and enjoyed, an unusual alternative to a Rolls-Royce.
