Of Regence style, 19th Century
Inlaid overall with floral and foliate scrolls, the bell-shaped top surmounted by a cherub slaying a dragon, waisted rounded case with a glazed door mounted with a cherub personifying spring, above a rockwork and scallop shell apron, on foliate feet headed by female busts, the gilt dial cast with scrolling strapwork with cartouche-shaped enamel Roman chapters, the twin-barrel movement with spring suspended pendulum, anchor escapement and outside countwheel with strike on a bell, on a conforming bracket, minor losses to the tortoiseshell and brass inlay
