Saint-Estèphe, 2me cru classé. Château-bottled
Tasting note: Opaque, mulberry centre, continuing right to the rim. The bouquet is spectacular, with complex spiciness, mingling with ripe black fruits. To taste, it is richly built, with powwerful tannins well-matched by superb fruit concentration, and mouth-coating length. Surely a great Montrose for the long haul, yet already not shy with its charm. AH (July 2002)
