A Large Thangka of Amitayus
Tibet, 18th Century
The nimbated Amitayus depicted at center in gold surrounded by a circular aureole of gold rays and adorned with blooming lotuses, seated on an elaborate throne with lotus cushion supported by peacocks, with an offering table before him and further surrounded by numerous smaller depictions of White Tara against a blue ground at top and green ground at bottom with alternating aureoles in red, orange, green and blue
