Meiji Period
craved wearing tied robes and head scarf, holding a basket aloft in his left hand and a bamboo staff in his right hand, standing with one foot raised onto a tree-stump -- 6½in. (16.5cm.) high; and a carved ivory zushi, the cylindrical central section with two doors carved with figures opening to reveal a seated deity, the panelled roof and tiered sections carved with various flowers and dragons -- 11½in. (29.1cm.) high. (2)
