AN AGRA CARPET

The ivory ground with an overall lattice of arabesques linked by palmettes and lozenge panels overlaying a secondary lattice of serrated leaves linked by floral sprays, in a broad ivory border of large palmettes and angular arabesques between narrow inner barber-pole and broad outer meandering floral stripes, braided warps at each end, minimal localised wear, reduced in length and width, parts of the border composite from the original, one area of damage at one end, sold together with a fragment from the original field
