The subject-matter of the present lot, Het Huis met de Hoofden (Keizersgracht 123, Amsterdam) is a study for the oil painting 'Het huis met de Hoofden te Amsterdam' of 1853 (oil on panel, 66 x 55 cm. See W. Laanstra, Cornelis Springer (1817-1891), Utrecht 1984, p.84., cat.no. 53-6.).
