A DETAILED SCALE MODEL OF CAPTAIN COOK'S ENDEAVOUR
modelled by Z. Petrovsky with bound masts, yards, standing and running rigging, full suit of stitched lined sails, boomkins, catheads, anchors with bound wooden stocks, belaying rails and pins, belfry, sail winch with carved figures, three ship's boats with bottom boards, thwarts and thole pins stowed over and under spare wood, six guns in stepped wooden carriages, companionways, deck lights, capstan, compass box with lamps, carved helm, stove pipe, tiller, lockers and many other details. The planked and pinned hull with main wale, chain plates and deadeyes, carved stern windows and transom, window shutters and rudder is finished in black, white, blue, yellow and varnish and mounted on two turned wooden columns on a display base secured within a wood bound glass case (two panes cracked). Measurements overall -- 49 x 55 x 20½in. (125 x 140 x 52cm.)
