Lot Essay

See anon. sale, Sotheby's, London, 14 July 1998, lot 161 for a signed vase and cover by George Owen. Also see Henry Sandon, Royal Worcester Porcelain, London, 1978, p. 31 for a discussion on George Owen's experiments with fine reticulation. During a tight period at the factory, Owen worked months at a time on these highly detailed works as special commissions for collectors.
