A NORTH-WEST PERSIAN BRONZE SHORT SWORD
LATE 2ND/EARLY 1ST MILLENNIUM B.C.
With splayed pommel and ribbed hilt, both flanged to take wooden inlay (partially preserved), the triangular blade with shallow mid-rib and rectangular guard; and an Urartian bronze shield with conical central umbo and gently everted rim, pair of holes pierced on opposite sides of rim, circa 8th Century B.C.
