A SMALL CARVED CINNABAR LACQUER BOX AND COVER
MING DYNASTY, 15TH/16TH CENTURY
The domed circular cover is finely carved through layers of cinnabar lacquer with a delicate design of a hibiscus blossom surrounded by buds and leaves, the box with a narrow band of flowers and foliage, the interior and base lacquered black
