An Imari flower-shaped dish
Circa 1700
Painted in underglaze-blue, iron-red, and gilt with green, yellow and black enamels, the central roundel with two vases filled with chrysanthemum on a tripod stand, surrounded on the scalloped sides with three kidney-shaped panels of pavilions, reserved on a black ground with flowering branches, the reverse surrounded by a floral meander around a central daisy at the base, grazed rim chip retouched
