Two rare Transitional blue and white 'klapmuts' bowls
Mid 17th Century
Decorated to the large central double-line medallion with a slightly different scene depicting two scholars conversing in a rocky landscape, one joined by a young attendant, the deep well and everted rim decorated with two registers of a hilly landscape dotted by figures among Western-style houses and churches, the reverse with roundels of tulips, ducks and boys, rim frittings
