Both female musicians shown kneeling, one playing the qin, the other a lute-like instrument, dressed in a dark red wide-sleeved tunic with padded hems tucked inside a black skirt, the hair drawn up high under a guan hat, the instruments and skin covered in white slip and traces of pale ochre pigment, minor restoration

The dating of this lot is consistent with the result of the Oxford Authentication Ltd thermoluminescence test no. C102n68.
