An ivory shibayama-style manju netsuke

decorated in mother-of-pearl, wood, silver and wood with a bird beside a vessel and flower sprays -- 1 5/8in. (4.1cm.) diam.; and a wood manju netsuke decorated in gold lacquer and mother-of-pearl with a butterfly, cricket and an ant -- 1½in. (3.8cm.) diam., (minute losses to inlay on first piece).
