A floriform Shibayama and silver filigree dish
Meiji Period
inlaid in mother-of-pearl, coral and stained ivory with panels of birds amongst sprays of peonies, wisteria and blossoming branches, alternating with inlaid enamel floral panels, the central roundel with a bird perched on a bird house suspended from a further blossoming tree, within pierced silver filigree petal shaped panels cast with scrolling foliage, the undersides of the panels in nashiji lacquer -- 12½in. (31.7cms) diam, mother-of-pearl signature tablet to centre, (area of damage to filigree work).
