Chancery 4° (180 x 120mm). Collation: a b6 (a1r title and armorial woodcut as in Philippica , a1v blank, a2r text, b10v colphon and printer's device). 12 leaves. 34 lines. Types: 5:210G (heading), 4:85R (text). (Dampstain on upper margin, a few wormholes.) Modern half vellum with marbled paper boards.
FIRST EDITION OF ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT GERMAN PRINCELY COURTESY BOOKS. It was dedicated to the 20-year-old Prince Ludwig, heir of the Elector Philip, and written a few days after Wimpfeling presented his previous work, Philippica to Philip (see lot 204).
