Mark of Balthasar Friedrich Behrens, Hanover, circa 1720
Vase-shaped, each on spreading circular base and with detachable domed cover with scroll and bell-shaped finial, with moulded borders, the bodies and covers each engraved with GL monogram with Elector's crown above, each marked on base

The monogram is for King George I of Great Britain as George Louis, Elector of Hanover (b. 1660, r. 1714-1727) (2)
Provenance
Presented to Sir Clement Cottrell-Dormer (d.1758), Master of Ceremonies to King George I, presumably as a perquisite of office and then by descent.
