A massive Cantonese baluster vase
19th century
with pierced and moulded blue enamel and gilt archaic style dragon handles, the body painted and gilt with panels of ladies, dignitaries and warriors gathered on terraces, on a ground densely decorated with exotic birds and butterflies amongst scattered fruit, flower sprays and precious objects, the rim with confronting dragons amongst cloud scrolls -- 51¾in. (131.5cms) high.
