Engraved frontispiece portrait by William Marshall, woodcut headpieces, ornamental initials. (Three holes in inner gutter of frontispiece, lower margin of c2 recto of contents closely shaved affecting last line of text, upper margin lightly waterstained throughout and first few leaves frayed, small wormholes in lower margin of ca. 40 pp. at the end, affecting one or two letters of last few leaves, lightly soiled). Contemporary speckled calf, paper lettering-piece. (Parts of top compartment of spine torn away, repaired with adhesive tape, tail of spine chipped, rubbed). Provenance: A. D.
