A fine early 20th-Century lacquered-brass and black enamelled compound microscope,
by Ernst Leitz Wetzlar and numbered 313682, with monocular and binocular body-tube, with rack and pinion focusing and micrometer fine adjustment, quadruple nosepiece, circular mechanical stage, mechanical substage condenser and plano-concave mirror, tilting on a Y-shaped foot, with pairs of eyepieces for 6x, 10x and 16x and one for 8x, and Leitz objectives numbered 3b, 4, 5, 7 and 1/12 (oil immersion), in the original fitted pine case with a Leitz magnification table (unused) in the door, advertising agencies in London, New-York, Tokyo and Peking, with key and carrying handle -- 16¼in. (41.3cm.) high
