A fine lacquered-brass and black enamelled compound monocular "H" microscope,
by W. Watson & Sons, Ltd 313 High Holborn London no. 10538, further stamped "H" Edin Studt, the eyepiece tube with graduated draw tube focusing, the body tube with double rack and pinion focusing and micrometer fine adjustment, with triple nosepiece, mechanical stage, fully adjustable substage condenser and plano-concave mirror, the main limb tilting on an axis supported by a black-enamelled tripod foot, with spare body tube, two eyepieces to this this tube, one KELNER'S ORTHOSCOPIC by ROSS, LONDON, the other a x14 by Watson, three holoscopic Watson objectives 3in., 8mm and 6mm in signed canisters, and a bull's-eye condensor, in the original fitted mahogany carrying case with leather handle -- 13 7/8in. (35.2cm.) high
