A Coalport dark-blue ground two-handled oviform vase
Circa 1910, printed crowned mark in green, gilt shape number V.5816/L/S.123, impressed numerals
Painted by J.H. Plant with a castle above a shoreline and crashing waves, signed, within a shaped oval panel with raised gilt scrolls below gilt fans of leaves, the reverse with a smaller roundel painted with flowers, between pale-yellow and blue-ground sections, with richly-gilt satyr mask and scroll handles (some rubbing to gilding)
