A large Meissen mythological group
Circa 1880, two blue crossed swords marks, incised No 29 and Pressnummern 75, 61 and 76
Modelled in two sections bolted together, with Jupiter riding his jewelled chariot across clouds drawn by two large brown eagles with blue jewelled harnesses, Jupiter wearing a crown, a billowing jewelled majenta robe and clutching his sceptre in his left hand, thunderbolts cascading down from his raised right hand and across the clouds, a winged putto attendant at his feet, the grey cloud base on a shaped plinth moulded with bands of up-turned stiff-leaves and joined gilt ovolo ornament (some losses to thunderbolts, slight chipping to extremities)
