A CASED VIENNESE GARNITURE OF A PAIR OF 16-BORE D.B. PERCUSSION SPORTING GUNS AND A 25-BORE D.B. PERCUSSION SPORTING RIFLE

The guns with etched twist barrels signed in gold on the rib, numbered repectively '1' and '2' in gold, and each with silver fore-sight and with silver and gold lines at the muzzle and breech, case-hardened patent breeches each chiselled in relief with a dragon, scroll engraved tangs numbered respectively '1' and '2' in gold and chiselled in relief with differing figures of sportsmen, and a stag and a hind within gold-inlaid ovals, case-hardened scroll engraved locks chiselled in low relief with differing dogs and game birds and signed in gold, figured walnut half-stocks (revarnished), chequered grips and fore-ends, engraved and chiselled iron mounts inlaid with silver, iron sling mounts, and original ramrods, each fore-end inlaid with an escutcheon with owner's initials 'BDB' in gold, each trigger-guard with a carved ebony lion-head at the tang; the rifle with sighted barrels cut with seven grooves and with pierced platinum plugs, and set triggers, the tang chiselled with a sportsman and a chamois, the trigger-guard with a carved ebony boar-head at the tang: in their original lined and fitted two-tier case veneered in satin birch and with white-metal mounts, together with numerous accessories including white-metal cap dispenser and translucent horn flask, the lid with white-metal escutcheon engraved with owner's initials 'BDB'
