With two-stage barrel with silver fore-sight within a gilt sunburst, the breech octagonal then polygonal, signed 'Puiforcat Seul Titré Arquebusier Du Roy A Paris', stamped with three oval marks, one of them the mark of Jean Baptiste Leclerc of Paris (Neue Støckel 180), and retaining traces of punched and gilt decoration, gold-lined touch-hole, shaped engraved tang, signed flat border engraved bevelled lock engraved on the stepped tail with a trophy of the chase, moulded figured walnut half-stock (reduced from full) with cheek-piece and carved in relief with rococo flowers and foliage, iron mounts chiselled in relief with flowers, scrolls, and foliage, iron ramrod-pipes, and wooden ramrod, the external screw-heads chiselled and gilt
