Jane Edwards, born in Sevenoaks in 1792, was the fourth of nine children born to Sarah and William Edwards. When Jane was 71 she wrote a "diary" entitled 'Jane Edwards 1792....1868 Her recollections of old Sevenoaks' which was completed in September 1863. These recollections were really a look at the inhabitants and their lives in Sevenoaks, a small country town, in the first half of the nineteenth century. She died five years after the book was published.
