A Meissen porcelain group of the drunken Silenus
Circa 1760, marked with underglaze blue crossed swords
Painted in colours, modelled by F.E. Meyer, depicting the nude lolling Silenus seated on a donkey's back draped with a purple garment scattered with flowerheads, flanked by a scantily clad young Bacchus wearing a yellow-lined garment enhanced with Indianische Blumen and holding a baton, further with a recumbent bacchic putto, on oval base encrusted allover with vine leaves and bunches of grapes
