An English mahogany longcase clock
The hood with brass-capped swan-neck cresting and brass ball and eagle spire finial, outset fluted columns with composite capitals, with pie-crust frame to the door, the rectangular trunk door flanked by line inlaid chamfered angles, the plinth on later raised skirting, the 12in. wide white painted Roman and Arabic dial with dot minute track, painted rose spandrels and with a flower basket to the arch, subsidiary seconds ring and arch date aperture, pierced steel hands, some retouching, with WALKER & FINNEMORE falseplate to the four pillar movement with anchor escapement and rack strike on bell; movement and dial associated to case, early 19th century -- 85½in. (217cm.) high
