A William IV Scottish mahogany longcase clock, circa 1830
Th0 hood with brass-capped swan neck pediment and outset columns, the trunk with short door with quatreform panelling and flanked by three-quarter columns carved with lotus leaves to top and bottom, with further quatreform panel to a plinth raised on bracket feet, the 11½in. wide dial painted with female seasonal spandrels and with a scene of Rob Roy duelling to the arch, the Roman chapter ring with subsidiary seconds and date rings, rubbed signature for BAIN BRECHIN, pinned directly to the four pillar movement with anchor escapment and rack strike on bell; dial mask restored, possibly associated -- 83in. (211cm.) high
