Circa 1815, blue crossed swords marks and Pressnummer
With richly-gilt scroll handle, painted with a half-length portrait of John the Evangelist wearing green robes and iron-red cape, modelled seated holding a scroll on top of an open book, a goblet with a serpent peering out to his side and an eagle holding a quill in its beak in flight above, within a rectangular panel edged with gilt roundels, flanked by a border of pendant husk ornament, the lower section richly-gilt, on circular gilt line foot
