A Swiss silver and enamel singing bird timepiece
C. Bucherer. Circa 1925
The case decorated with pink guilloché enamel within black enamel borders to the sides and top, the lid with a painted enamel scene of two ladies in period dress being serenaded by a suitor, the base on foliate engraved legs, the front rectangular glazed silvered dial signed C BUCHERER with blued steel hands, the nickel-plated watch movement jewelled to the second and signed C BUCHERER SWISS FIFTEEN 15 JEWELS, the singing bird movement with typical going barrel with cams and bellows, the bird flapping its wings, opening and closing its beak and swivelling on its perch
