A French ormolu and porcelain-mounted striking carriage clock in the baroque style

The case cast with ribbon-tied foliate decoration to the base with out-set bun feet, the front angles with cherub caryatids supporting foliate volutes, the Limoges style side panels each painted en grisaille with Cupid within an elaborate foliate frame, the top cast with ormolu figures of Cupid crowning a recumbent girl with floral garland, the dial with gothic style painted Roman chapters and white painted moon hands, the two putto below seated beside an altar, the twin barrel movement with platform lever escapement and strike on a bell on the back plate with maker's stamp for JAPY FRÈRES & Cie.
