A*B, No.199, retailed by Hamilton Crichton & Co. Circa 1870
The gorge case engraved overall with foliage and with engraved handle to the top with push repeat button and glazed escapement viewing aperture, the sides with porcelain panels painted with storks within pink and gilt frames, painted on the reverse with the movement serial number 199 and the initials AT, the dial indistinctly signed by the retailer HAMILTON CHRICHTON & CO PARIS within the Roman chapter ring with blued moon hands, painted below with an orange and white stork by the water's edge with lilies and other flowers, the twin barrel movement with bimetallic balance to platform lever escapement, strike/repeat on a gong on the backplate with stamp A*B and serial number 199
