A William and Mary walnut month-going longcase clock

The case with later moulded skirting to the plinth with convex moulding beneath the rectangular trunk door with circular brass-framed lenticle, later brass hinges, convex throat moulding to the hood (now forward sliding but runners still present), walnut twist columns, later frieze fret and later caddy top, the 11in. square dial with silvered chapter ring with elaborate pierced blued steel hands, the finely matted centre with subsidiary seconds ring (later hand), low position ringed winding holes and decorated calendar aperture, winged cherub-and-foliate spandrels, the movement with five ringed pillars (four pillars formerly latched and now pinned, lower right retaining the original latch), anchor escapement, ouside countwheel strike on a bell above the plates, later seatboard
