A pair of Bow sweetmeat-figures
Circa 1770
Modelled as a gallant and companion wearing Turkish dress seated to left and right, he in plumed turban, blue jacket, pink cloak, turquoise trousers with iron-red flower-heads and iron-red shoes, she in tall headdress, long pink dress with blue flower-heads, the sleeves with blue stripes, yellow turquoise-lined cloak, yellow and red striped trousers and iron-red shoes, each holding a shell-shaped dish painted to the interior with a spray and sprigs of flowers within a gilt line rim and supported by branches applied with shells, on pierced bases with four scroll-moulded feet (slight damages and restoration)
