A Sicilian maiolica waisted albarello
Late 17th century, probably Burgio
Outlined in manganese and painted in yellow with a three-quarter length skeleton holding an hour-glass within an oval panel on a ground painted in blue and manganese with scrolling foliage between meandering leaves and concentric lines, the lower section painted with a guilloche pattern band, the lower section painted with gadrooning (chipping to rim and footrim, some glaze flaking)
