Lot Essay

Cf. Grazia Biscontini Ugolini, Ceramiche Pesaresi Dal XVIII al XX secolo (Bologna 1986), p. 121, pl. 105, col. pl. XX for a jug with similar form and decoration but with a different cartouche.

This verse translates as 'If a young man or young woman drinks too much, they will loose their honour and ruin their health'.
