A Victorian oak shoe snuff
Mid 19th century
Decorated overall with brass tack inlay simulating lace holes and stitching, and the inscription ROYAL GEORGE SUNK 1782, the sliding cover inset with a copper plaque engraved with the owner's monogram R.G.
4in. (10.2cm.) long;
and another treen shoe snuff, early 19th century, possibly prisoner of war, with chip carved ornament, the sliding cover inset with a mirrored glass panel -- 4¼in. (10.8cm.) long (2)
