A Napoleon III ormolu striking elephant clock
Baschet Baullier, Paris. Circa 1860
Modelled with two Chinese figures in a howdah and holding parasols, a monkey clambering to the rear and the rider holding a bunch of arrows, on naturalistic base, the white enamel Roman dial with steel moon hands, regulation through the bezel above XII, the twin barrel movement with countwheel strike (bell lacking) and stamped Baschet Baullier on the back plate
