Two Four-Case Lacquer Inro and a Five-Case Lacquer Inro**
Edo period (19th century), the first with signature Kajikawa saku, the second with signature Eisai Kimitatsu Shigeyaki and with kakihan (cursive monogram)
The first decorated in brown, silver and gold takamaki-e and red hiramaki-e with a boar sleeping on autumn foliage, details of the plants with kirigane, interiors nashiji; fitted with a stag-antler ojime carved as a basket of flowers and an ivory netsuke of a seated monkey teasing a crab, with signature Tomokazu; the second designed in gold and silver hiramaki-e, takamaki-e and hirame with a waterfall cascading down a slope lined with blossoming cherry trees, the interiors nashiji; fitted with a gilt-bronze pierce-carved ojime of a flying swallow and an ivory netsuke of bean pods with signature Masamitsu; the third sparse nashiji on a brown lacquer ground with bushy-tailed tortoises on a rocky beach with bamboo below a setting sun in iro-e togidashi, gold and silver takamaki-e and hirame the interiors nashiji; fitted carved fruit nut ojime and a wood netsuke of chestnuts on a sack
