A fine late 18th/early 19th-Century shagreen-bound and ivory-mounted monocular,
unsigned and undated, with a fishskin-covered case, the objective lens -- 3.1cm. (14¼in.) diameter; the case -- 8.5cm. (3 3/8in.) high

The objective lens is held in place by a threaded ivory mount. The pasteboard body-tube is bound with green shagreen and the draw-tube with green vellum. The eyepiece lens is also held in place by a threaded ivory mount. The cylindrical pasteboard case is secured by a sprung catch. It is lined with green paper with red silk in the lid and bound in black fishskin.
