A fine mid 19th-Century French gear-train demonstration model,
unsigned, demonstrating a mutliple gear train arranged with a pencil holder to generate an ellipse. The brass wheels are turned by means of a fruitwood handle and are mounted on a mahogany frame and base -- 43.2cm. (17in.) high
