A CASED PAIR OF .46 PERCUSSION RIFLED TARGET PISTOLS
Signed Lepage Moutier & Fauré, circa 1860
With sighted partly fluted octagonal barrels with gold signatures and silver and gold decoration at the muzzle and breech, the breeches and tangs numbered '1' and '2' respectively, later adjustable back-sights, stepped locks also decorated with silver and gold, carved ebony half-stocks, and iron mounts decorated with silver and gold, the pistols refinished throughout: in their original fitted rosewood case with brass stringing on the outside, lined in green velvet, with accessories (turnscrew associated), the lining of lid with gilt stamped signature, the exterior with shield-shaped escutcheon engraved with the letter 'G', the stocks stamped with serial number 8630, Liège proof
