A PAIR OF .62 LIÈGE FLINTLOCK WENDER PISTOLS
Circa 1720
With two-stage sighted barrels chiselled in low relief with symmetrical patterns of foliage at the breech, and with three rectangular brass-lined stamps, 'AF' crowned, brass fore-sights, engraved tangs each retained by two screws, flat bevelled locks each engraved with foliage and with stepped tail, moulded figured walnut full stocks (lightly wormed), engraved brass mounts including flat side-plates, faceted spurred pommels, and pierced escutcheons, plain iron trigger-guards each with barrel release-catch, faceted brass ramrod-pipes, and iron-mounted ramrods
