A DRUM MAJOR'S MACE-HEAD AND A COLOR-FINIAL, BOTH OF THE GARDE NATIONALE, 1830 MODEL

The mace-head of brass (bearing traces of plating), with the cockerel device in relief on the top encircled by engraved inscription 1er BATAILLON CANTONAL DE ROZOY (SEINE ET MARNE); together with a brass color-finial in the form of a cockerel, its claws resting on a plain sphere and a thunderbolt, the tablet inscribed LIBERTÉ on the front and rear, with shaft-socket below (now extensively and permanently adapted for use as a table-lamp with marble base)
