TWO SCOTTISH DESK ITEMS
The first mid 19th Century
An inkwell, consisting of a silver-mounted deer's foot, with a silver prop in the form of a bird's claw, and elaborate hinged lid formed of silver thistle leaves with a thistle flower for a finial (set with a stone), concealing an inner lid to the glass container; and a silver paper-knife (hallmarked Glasgow 1955), the blade partially decorated with engraved strapwork and hilt in the form of a thistle with a stone for the flower and with the ball section engraved, maker's initials RA and other stamped markings
