Lot Essay

The higher stance of the pointer identifies the present épreuve as an example of the third version of Barye's Braque. According to Poletti and Richarme, the latter was lifted directly from the model, Deux chiens en arrêt sur des perdrix, acquired at the Atelier sale and subsequently edited by the Delafontaine foundry.
